JPJ set up AES cameras in seven new locations

The Road Transport Department (JPJ) has recently released a new list of active camera and their locations. These including four new cameras that are being installed at various traffic light intersections.

Tesla overtakes BMW in market cap

Tesla shares increases by 1.4%, making the market capitalization to $61.6 billion, which about $280 million more than BMW. Tesla is now ranks as the fourth most valuable automaker in US automotive industry. For Tesla, surpassing BMW is significant because luxury carmakers earn bigger profit margins and their stocks trade at higher multiples of earnings than mass-market players.

Volvo V40 Facelift launched – From RM180,888

Volvo has recently unveiled the latest Volvo V40 facelift in Malaysia, with OTR price of RM180,888. The V40 comes with T5 Drive-E variant, with Inscription trim level. The significant changes in the new V40 is the new ‘T’ design daytime running lights. Otherwise, the Volvo V40 remain untouched in terms of performance. The V40 hot hatch designed has been receiving great response from the public.

Safety is always one of Volvo great advantage, the V40 come with comprehensive safety kit, Blind Spot Information System (BLIS), Cross Traffic Alert, City Safety collision avoidance and mitigation (works up to 50 km/h), Dynamic Stability and Traction Control, Torque Vectoring, and Active Bending Lights, and seven airbags (with a knee airbag on the driver’s side).

Ops Selamat 11- New iCOPS Camera, June 14 until July 2

Selangor police will focus on 35 hotspots during Op Selamat 11 which will run until July 2 in conjunction with Hari Raya. The Ops Selamat is aim to reduce accident rates and house break-ins cases. The operations will be focusing on major cities in Petaling Jaya, Ampang Jaya and Subang Jaya. For out of KL, the operations will be focusing on Kajang, Serdang, Sngai Buloh, Sepang, Sabak Bernam, Gombak, Klang, Shah Alam and Kuala Langat.

The Ops Speedtrap is also carried out in areas in which accidents occurred frequently and among the main offences committed by drivers are driving in the emergency lane, overtaking at double lines and using mobile phones. With that, the operations is aim to ensures public safety and reduce accident rate on the highway.

Proton offers free 20 point safety checks

Proton is offering its customers complimentary 20-point safety inspections at all its authorized service centres in the month of June, in conjunction with the upcoming Hari Raya travel period.

The safety inspection will include checks on tyre tread and pressure, brake system, brake and clutch pedal operation, suspension, battery, wiper blades, belts, switches and also fluid levels such as engine oil, brake fluid, power steering, coolant and wiper washer.

Maxus G10 SE released for Malaysia MPV lovers

Weststar Malaysia has released the new Maxus G10 SE, a 10 seaters MPV that aims to compete with Kia Grand Carnival and Toyota Vellfire. The OTR price of Maxus G10 SE is at RM153,412 without insurance. The Maxus G10 SE main selling points is the 10 seats that are arranged in 2-3-2-3 layout. It also comes with latest features includes keyless entry and push start, 360 degree camera, cruise control and a 15- inch head unit. The 15- inch head unit is split into smaller screen for digital clock and moderate sized touchscreen for infotainment control.

The Maxus also features 2.0 litre turbocharged GDI engine with six speed ZF automatic transmission. The safety features include two airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist, ESP, traction control and ISOFIX.

JPJ urges public to report reckless bus drivers

JPJ urges the public to report bus drivers breaking traffic rule via WhatsApp, 011-51115252. The unlawful acts include exceeding 90kph (speed limit for buses), smoking, using cellphones while driving, and hogging the right lane. In addition, JPJ will be instituting a ban on the movements of some heavy commercial vehicles on June 23 and 24, and on July 1 and 2. June 2017 Weekly Fuel Price- Fuel price down

This week RON95 and RON97 fuel prices continue to drop 7 cents while Diesel remains unchanged. RON 95 will be priced at RM1.91 per litre (-RM0.07) RON 97 will be priced at RM2.17 per litre (-RM0.07) Diesel will be priced at RM1.88 (no changes)

Honda Jazz reaches 1,300 bookings within 2 weeks prior its launch

Honda Malaysia today announced that the New Jazz Petrol has received over 1,300 bookings within 2 weeks of its official launch, which exceeds its one month sales target of 1,200 units. The E variant of the New Jazz Petrol received the highest number of booking which is close to 40% from the total bookings collected, while the V variant is at 32% and S variant at 28%. Modern Steel Metallic is the colour in demand for New Jazz Petrol followed by Lunar Silver Metallic and the model has been attracting upgraders, young executives and second vehicle purchasers.
