After the price hike made by several car manufacturers such as Honda, Toyota, Mitsubishi, Kia and Proton in Malaysia earlier this year due to the weakening ringgit, Edaran Tan Chong Motor (ETCM) announced a price increase for four CKD models which are Nissan Almera, Grand Livina, X-Gear and Teana, effective from 1 April 2016. This is due to the depreciating ringgit and the higher operating cost.
The price hike is ranged from 2.8% to 6.7%. Nissan Teana 200XE has the minimal percentage change at 2.8%, from RM133,284 to RM137,000 (OTR wihout insurance). On the other hand, Nissan Almera E AT which was previously tagged at RM67,678 is now up by 6.7% to RM72,200 (OTR without insurance),
Meanwhile, pricing for Nissan Serena S-Hybrid, X-Trail, NP300 Navara and NV200 are not affected.
