What To Expect for Frankfurt Motor Show
The upcoming 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show will be starting on 14 September, most of the carmakers has already revealed their upcoming automobiles on the Internet. However, the motor show is still something to look forward to. There are your favorite German brands like Audi, BMW, Volkswagen and Mercedes; Japan brands like Honda, Toyota and Mazda; Korean brands like Hyundai and Kia will be demonstrate their latest technology in their latest concept cars. The Ferrari Portofino is the new V8 GT set to dominate its segment thanks to a perfect combination of sportiness, elegance and on board comfort. The Portofino is known as Ferrari entry level model yet performance wise, it can reach speeds of over 320 km per hour (199 miles per hour), accelerating from 0 - 100 km per hour in just 3.5 seconds.
Mercedes AMG Project One
The most anticipating Mercedes AMG Project One has been previewed but no official images were out in the public. From the image, the hypercar is spotted with aggressive looking LED headlamps and roof scoop. Also, the hypercar will be featuring a full-fledged Formula One hybrid technology which goes super-fast speed.
Nissan has recently unveiled the brand new electric car, Leaf which was the pioneer in electric car back in 2010 before the Tesla hit the market. The new Leaf is more energy efficient and more powerful, it is able to generate 110kW which equivalent to 148 hp and 320 Nm of torque. The Leaf features the new technology, e-pedal that allows drivers to start, accelerate, brake and stop the vehicle with one pedal only.
The all new Cayenne has already unveiled before the motor show, the premium SUV is powered by 3.0L V6 engine which produces 340 hp, zero to 100 km per hour in just 6.2 seconds. There will be a turbocharged 2.9L engine and Hybrid powertrain options available later. One can distinguish the new Cayenne with its previous model by the 3D rear light clusters which joined using a thin strip of LEDs.
Mercedes Benz EQ series
The Mercedes Group has revealed a few details about the EQ A Concept featuring small full electric hatch to compete with BMW i3 and Tesla Model 3. It is expected that Mercedes will be showing a range of full electric concept vehicles that will be market to the public by 2020.
BMW X7 Concept
BMW will be having a big show as they will be showcasing the X2, i3s, M5 as well as the X7 Concept. There are leaked images of BMW X7 Concept will be BMW first seven seaters SUV. There will be also a full panoramic glass roof with Y cross bar. Exterior wise, the X7 find the balance for sporty and premium, the thin rear lamps are in line with the Z4 Concept and M8.
Lamborghini Aventador S Roadster
The all new Lamborghini Aventador S Roadster is spotted with shiny blue paint, it is being powered by 6.5 litre naturally aspirated V12 engine that produces 730 hp which goes from zero to 100 km per hour in just 3.0 seconds. The roadster is able to reach a top speed of 217 mph (approx. 350 km per hour).
Honda Urban EV
Honda will take steps forward in its Electric Vision campaign at the Frankfurt Motor Show by showing Urban EV Concept and the CR-V Hybrid. There are no pictures of the Urban EV yet but it is expected that the EV will be a compact size car that suitable for urban city driving.
Mini Electric Concept
The Mini Electric Concept is Mini second electrified Mini in the brand’s line up, alongside with the Mini Countryman PHEV. The Mini is spotted with LED headlamps and LED rear lamps that resembles the Union Flag. There are lime green color works to indicate the EV touch on the Mini.
Smart Vision EQ ForTwo Concept
The Daimler owned, Smart has just preview the teaser of the EQ ForTwo Concept. The features a 44-inch ‘Black Panel Grille’ that displays messages to help users recognize it is “their” vehicle, while projection-friendly surfaces on the sides allows customization for the status of the vehicle that fit for ride-sharing services.
Kia Proceed Concept
Kia has just unveiled their latest hatchback concept, the Kia Proceed Concept. The sporty wagon is looking sporty in a bullet shaped body structure. The car features a 20 inch six spoke wheels in lava red paint. There are GT logo engraved onto the B-pillars which signifies the Kia Proceed is in line with its sibling Kia Stinger as the company GT line-up.
