Toyota has updated Innova, Fortuner and Hilux
Toyota has just announced a new variant for Toyota Innova, 2.0X along the line with 2.0E and 2.0G. The 2.0X is now the high spec and equipped with plenty of new items. The 2.0X comes with LED headlamps, 17 inch alloy wheels instead of 16 inch that found on the other variants, all new sporty bodykit, second row is now changed to two captain seats instead of three seaters, leather upholstery as well as six-way powered driver seat. The rest of the variant will still be getting seven airbags, VSC and traction control.
Toyota Fortuner has gained two new diesel variant, 2.4 VRZ 4x4 (4WD) and 2.4 VRZ 4x2 (2WD) along the line with their current 2.4 4x4 as well as 2.7 SRZ 4x4. The new diesel units will be powered by 2.4 litre turbo diesel engine with 150PS and 400Nm of torque. The new variants will now gain 18 inch alloy wheels, Bi-LED projector headlamps with DRL and LED rear lamps. All variants will be upgraded with rear disc brakes, LED fog lamps except 2.4 4x4 variant. Active Traction Control and Downhill Assist Control (DAC) will be installed in 2.7 SRZ 4x4 and 2.4 4x4 variants only. The rest of variants will get seven airbags, VSC, Hill-start Assist Control (HAC), ABS with EBD and brake assist.
Toyota Hilux variants has been reduced from eight to six and has improved the safety features for the high spec variant. The Hilux 2.8G gets new LED front foglamps, automatic climate control with rear air vents, cruise control, DAC and HAC. The Hilux 2.4G variant has improved its safety kits, now gets seven airbags (AT only), VSC, HAC and brake assist (AT and MT).
Toyota Hilux is back in Japan, Land Cruise receives updates
One of the most revered pickup truck, the Toyota Hilux, is set to return to the Japanese market for the first time since 2004. When Toyota discontinued the 1997 introduced model in Japan, it was the last generation to be sold or built in Japan, the following generation was predominantly Thailand-built. The Land Cruiser Prado also receives a facelift, alongside with with tech updates.
Both Hilux and Land Cruiser Prado will be equipped with Toyota Safety Sense P (pre-collision system, lane departure alert, automatic high beams, dynamic radar cruise control and pre-collision system with pedestrian detection). (SOURCE: AUTOBLOG)
Facebook might build an autonomous car
Facebook COO, Sheryl Sandberg appears at 2017 Frankfurt Motor Sow and stated that Facebook has no interest to build car. However, Facebook seems to have a strategy of leveraging its capabilities in social marketing, AR & VR and leveraging its advanced AI and deep learning capabilities to support the development of autonomous vehicles. Sandberg announced that Facebook will join an urban mobility test project in Munich with carmakers and startups and said it will also sponsor a new university in Berlin focused on digital product development. Renault Megane RS Unveiled In Frankfurt
Renault has unveiled the all new Renault Megane RS in Frankfurt Motor Show. The sporty hatchback is now kicking 1.8 litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine producing 276 hp and 390 Nm of torque. The Megane RS offers the selection of six speed EDC dual clutch automatic transmission and six speed manual, the 4Control four wheel steering system is Renault new technology that aid the Megane in tackle tight turn and cornering at high speeds. Apart an upgrade from three doors to five doors, the Megane still carries plenty of sporty elements from its predecessor.
On the inside, red contrast stitching, carbon-fibre-look trim, a unique steering wheel and enhanced driving mode selection. Megane is now offering a 'Race' option along with the standard 'Eco', 'Normal' and 'Sport' settings. Also, the bucket seats can choose between Alcantara or a carbon fibre weave, while there is a digital instrument panel, aluminium pedals and an 8.7-inch portrait touchscreen with R-LINK 2 and Apple CarPlay. The RS Monitor onboard telemetry technology features an ‘Expert’ mode that allows users to connect a camera, film their drive, play back and analyse data, and share their images on social media. Volvo XC40 will reveal soon
Volvo has unveiled a new teaser trailer for its forthcoming compact SUV, the XC40. Volvo also shows series of photographs teasing the car's bonnet, grille and bumper design. The XC40 will be revealed in its entirety on September 21st 2017 via a Facebook live stream on Volvo's official page. The XC40 will be the first Volvo model to utilize the newly developed Compact Modular Architecture (CMA), a highly versatile component set designed to be shared by future compact Volvos and Chinese-built Geely models. There are also rumor saying that the Volvo XC40 will inclusive a petrol-powered plug-in hybrid called T5 Twin Engine with 180 hp petrol power and supported by a 74 hp electric motor.
