MyCarsearch has just received the vehicle sales data for August 2017. The total sales figure registered is 51,720 units and marks an increment of 3,167 units from the previous month 48,553 units. The reason contributes to the rise of sale figures are successful promotional campaigns done by the car companies as well as the ‘e-daftar’ system is back to working state. It is expected that the figure will remained for September due to short working month.
Perodua top the chart with 18,630 units sold, an slight dip of 290 units (-1.5%). Honda comes second with 9,733 units sold, an increment of 1,157 units from 8,576 units (+13.5%). Proton is at third place registering 6,452 units sold, an increment of 498 units from 5,954 units from the previous month (+8.4%).
Other Japanese car makers also has achieved good results. Toyota comes at fourth place with 5,705 units sold, a slight gain of 162 units compared to its previous month figures (+2.9%). Nissan lock in at fifth place with 2,551 units sold, a slight gain of 33 units (+1.3%). Isuzu comes at seventh place with 1,032 units sold, an increment of 206 units from 826 units sold last month (+24.9%). While Mazda place at ninth place with 802 units sold, a slight gain of 101 units from 701 units sold on July (+14.4%).
In the premium brand league, Mercedes Benz rises to sixth place with 1,222 units sold, achieving great increment of 462 units from 760 units sold from July (+60.8%). BMW is at eighth place with 915 units registered, a slight gain of 15 units from last month sales figures (+1.7%).
Here are some honorary remarks for biggest gainers. Volvo (+212.2%), Volkswagen (+53.7%), Kia (+41.9%) and Peugeot (+61.4%). Brands that experience dip in their sales figures are Ford (-16.9%), Perodua (-1.5%) and Hyundai (-1.2%).
