5 Reasons Why You Should Take 2017 Honda City Seriously. ( 2017-02-22 )

Honda City is no longer a new name in Malaysia automobile market. What’s more, City has been one of the best seller for Honda. In this year, we receive good news from Honda Malaysia that they are bringing in the new 2017 Honda City. The booking for 2017 Honda City is open now with MyCarsearch, click here to send in your enquiry to us.

Previously released in Thailand and India, 2017 Honda City has never look greater than it’s ever been before. In the B segment class, 2017 Honda City is facing rivalry with Toyota Vios, Nissan Almera, Proton Persona and Kia Rio Sedan. Likewise most B segment cars, Honda City is packed with strong reliability, huge cabin space, fuel efficient performance. How 2017 Honda City stand out from the rest? Here are 5 reasons why you should take this Honda City 2017 seriously.

1. Best looking Honda City

We must all agree that 2017 Honda City is so far the best looking Honda City ever. The newly introduced Honda City facelift is now come with new LED headlamps and LED daytime running light. The metallic chrome bar that connects both head lamps is inspired by the latest Civic. Honda logo is placed on top of the new honeycomb designed front grille. The redesigned bumper look even sportier with more carved details. The 2017 Honda City is sharp looking, the eagle eye head lamp design that further improves the design language of the sedan.

Looking at the rear design, the 2017 Honda City has improvised from the previous design. The rear lamp is an adaptation of Japanese launched Honda Grace Hybrid. Honda also tweak the rear bumper to match the overall sporty styling. A newly designed 16 inch dual tone 5-spoke alloy wheels are also introduced for the new City top variant while the base variant sport 15 inch wheels.

2. Same safety features but powerful

Likewise previous Honda City, the 2017 Honda City remains the same 1.5 i-VTEC engine that produces 120 PS and 145 Nm torque. The new City comes with Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), Hill Start Assist (HAS), Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), push start button and smart entry for all base variant. Honda City features 7- speed CVT automatic transmission that maximize pick-up acceleration and fuel efficient cruising experience. Paddle shifters are introduced to the 2017 Honda City. The paddle shifter enable driver to have more involvement in gear shifting and shift logic in manual mode able to delivers quicker, firmer shift than in full automatic mode. Paddle shifter also help protect the engine and drivetrain from damage and provide adequate acceleration during acceleration pick up. However, previous City drivers noticed that the previous Honda City has significant lag when pressing the paddle shift and the gearbox reaction. Thus, we are yet to test drive the 2017 Honda City, we hope that the paddle shifter will have an improvement from the previous model.

3. Multimedia and advanced technology in a hub.

While most of the in car technology remain the same, the top in-line V variant has multi-angle reverse camera installed. While the current Honda Civic has Apple Car Play and Android Auto installed, we are expecting that the 2017 City will be equipped with the same mobile Mirrorlink support. The infotainment system is being upgraded to ‘DigiPad; which is an entire new touchscreen infotainment system that runs on Android platform. The system includes application download and web browsing, which users can install any compatible application along with their phone. Along with 1.5GB media storage, the system also includes easy access 3D satellite navigation system with preloaded maps. The New Honda City has definitely up its game to stay competitive not only with the Japanese carmaker but stands out among the rest.

4. Generous specifications for lower range variant

The 2017 Honda City might be the last facelift before Honda introduce a whole new Honda City design. Likewise the previous Honda City facelift that launched back in 2012, The E variant comes with paddle shifter and VSA technology (It was considered a new technology for Honda back then). That was the last City that adapted the 2009 Honda City design. Assuming that Honda is following the trend, it is likely that the next Honda City will have an entire new design.

5. Just because it is Honda City

Honda Malaysia has set a high bar with their annual sales statistic. Honda achieves great result of selling 91,830 cars on 2016, Honda City contributed more than 40% of the overall sales volume. While the other model like Civic, Jazz, HR-V and CR-V is catching up, City retain as one of the best-selling model for Honda.  Besides, Honda City has high resale value due to its popularity, good brand value and affordable maintenance costs.  Honda City is best fit for college students commute to college, house wives grocery shopping vehicle or even young executives day to day drive to work. With low depreciation value, Honda City is at high demand in the second hand car market.
