What is Honda Sensing? ( 2017-07-12 )

Honda Malaysia has just launched the all new Honda CR-V. After teasing the public with glimpse of CR-V in various shopping malls for the past month, we finally able to see the whole of CR-V. The all new CR-V is packed with various Honda engineered technology, the powerful Earth Dream 1.5 VTEC Turbocharged engine is able to perform like a 2.4L engine that provide the sufficient kick and punch at the right time. For the first time, Honda Malaysia has also equipped the Honda CR-V with intuitive driver assistive technologies, the Honda Sensing.

Honda Sensing is an exclusive intelligent suite of safety and driver-assistive technologies designed to alert you to things you might miss while driving. This exclusive feature is able to better assist drivers to mitigate potential collision and minimize damage. Here are the features of Honda Sensing.

1. Lane Departure Warning (LDW)

Lane Departure Warning can detect unindicated lane departures from detected lanes. Alerts will flash and sound to help bring your attention to correcting the lane drift.

2. Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS)

If your vehicle begins to stray from the center of a detected lane without signaling, the steering adjusts to help bring you back to the lane center.

3. Road Departure Mitigation System (RDM)

If your vehicle detects that it is drifting too close to the side of the road without a turn signal activated, RDM alerts you with rapid vibrations on the steering wheel and then can provide mild steering input to help keep you on the road or apply braking to help keep you from going off it.

4. Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)

Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) helps you maintain a set following interval on the highway, so you don’t have to manually change your speed. Select vehicles feature Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Low-Speed Follow to make driving in light traffic easier and more convenient.

5. Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS)

CMBS helps brake the vehicle when it senses an otherwise unavoidable collision with a vehicle detected in front of you.

6. Forward Collision Warning (FCW)

Integrated with the Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), FCW uses a small camera mounted at the top of the front windshield to detect the presence of vehicles in front of you. If the FCW system determines that you are at risk of a collision with a detected vehicle, it activates audio and visual alerts to warn you. If you fail to act, the CMBS can automatically apply brake pressure.

7. Honda LaneWatch

Any time the driver signal right, the camera on the passenger-side mirror will turn on and display live video on your Display Audio Touch-Screen, revealing nearly four times more than the average passenger-side mirror.

8. Active Cornering Lights

These special lights turn on when driving with the headlamps on and the turn signal is activated or a specified amount of turn is applied to the steering wheel. The lights point at a sharper angle than the vehicle's turning path to improve visibility.

The Honda CR-V has made a strong comeback this time to conquer the SUV market. The Honda Sensing System is only available for 1.5TC-P 2WD variant, while other variants still gets 6 airbags, Hill Start Assist, Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), Agile Handling Assist (AHA), Walk away auto lock, Auto Brake Hold (ABH) and ISOFIX. The revolutionary safety system boost driver confident to take on any road condition, a bold new take on a trendsetter.
